Today, we’re diving into the fascinating world of money in IT. No, I won’t just be talking about programmers, because that topic has been done to death. But do you know the average BI developer salary?
Exactly. Today we’re focusing on comparing the earnings of programmers and BI developers. Why? Because while it’s common knowledge that programmers make good money, have you ever wondered if you could make an equally rewarding career without coding skills? The answer is: yes, you can. And today, I’ll prove it to you.
Salary Comparison – Who’s Winning Here?
First off, let’s acknowledge that the salaries in both professions are quite similar. We’re gonna look at a salary report from No Fluff Jobs from 2022. BI developers can expect to earn between 13,000 and 18,000 PLN, while Fullstack programmers fall in the range of 12,000 to 18,700 PLN. Frontend programmers also have nothing to be ashamed of, with salaries ranging from 12,000 to 18,200 PLN. So, we can confidently say that money shouldn’t be the primary factor for choosing one path over the other.
Why BI Developer?
Okay, if the salaries are similar, then why should you consider a career as a BI developer? First of all, the entry barrier is significantly lower. You don’t have to be a coding virtuoso or memorize a ton of algorithms. Starting as an analyst, you can gradually build up your skills and become a BI developer.
Secondly, this is a very versatile job. A BI developer is not just an analyst; they are also someone who understands business and can translate data into actionable insights for the company. In simpler terms, you create something that genuinely impacts the company’s decisions.
Choosing Your Career Path in IT – What to Consider?
If you’re contemplating which career path to take, remember that IT isn’t just about coding. There are fields that require different skill sets and offer equally good earning prospects. You don’t have to be a programmer to succeed in this industry.
Conclusion
The job market in the IT industry is diverse and offers numerous opportunities. You don’t need to be proficient in coding to earn a good salary. A BI developer is one of those paths that provide stable and satisfying earnings with a lower entry threshold.
